Full weather protection and containment to two existing buildings on the Fulham Gas Works project is no simple project, but add in the fact that one of these is to be freestanding, due to it's listed status and it becomes an even more interesting project.

Node Scaffold Design were responsible for the full scaffold design package for this project, covering two existing buildings on the site that were to be refurbished and fully repaired up to modern specification. The smaller block of the two carried a listed status, and due to the nature of the works required on it, scaffold ties could not be installed. This meant designing a 16m high scaffold with temporary roof to be freestanding, with only butts allowed in structural locations and buttress support scaffold with kentledge.

The taller block, required a full perimeter access scaffold, temporary roof and a full bridge across one of the gable ends due to an existing staircase access that could not support the loads required. At the roof level, a full birdcage platform was erected with supporting frame to restrain the crumbling parapet for safety. With both buildings, fully contained and environmentally protected, the works could progress and the internal refurbishment is underway. A precise and safe install by the team at Brogan Group as always to ensure all the site teams requirements were accommodated.
