The Silk District is a new development in Whitechapel, London made up of three residential blocks set around a piazza with private landscaped gardens and new commercial space on the ground floor. Within the project are three buildings - the Jacquard, the Georgette and the Bouchon. The Bouchon is the tallest building in the development, rising to 25 floors.

Node Scaffold Design were responsible for the perimeter access scaffold comprising of floor level access lifts which had various bridging and cantilever requirements to suit site logistics. Alongside this, various hoist runoff towers and bespoke loading bays were required to enable the works on site. Along a specific elevation, a large bridged scaffold was initially required across the entire terrace area, however by working alongside our client and the main contractors engineers a steel spreader solution was designed to enable the scaffold to be based off the terrace without overloading the slab, reducing labour and costs.
